Jiffy Lube Sponsors Charging Rhino Classic Five High School Wrestling Tournament; More Than 150 Athletes Expected to Participate in One-Day Event

BELLEVUE, Wash.--Dec. 2, 20059, 2005--Continuing its mission to support local athletics, Jiffy Lube Western Washington has signed on as the title sponsor of the Charging Rhino Classic Five wrestling tournament. The event, to be held Friday, December 30, at Bellevue's East Side Catholic High School, will feature competition between 10 high school teams made up of some of the region's top high school athletes, as well as wrestling powerhouse Virginia Episcopal High School.

-- Evergreen High School, Seattle

-- Garfield High School, Seattle

-- Lakeside High School, Nine Mile Falls, Wash.

-- Ingraham High School, Seattle

-- Interlake High School, Bellevue

-- Roosevelt High School, Seattle

-- Virginia Episcopal High School, Lynchburg, Virg.

Ron Cole, the tournament's director, three-time world medalist and 17-time national champion, approached Jiffy Lube as the title sponsor because of the company's tradition of supporting local amateur sports events. Jiffy Lube franchises have sponsored numerous local athletic teams, including men's and women's softball teams, a South Seattle soccer league and youth football.

The event will begin at 10:00 AM and feature three mats with continuous competition. Six participants will compete in each weight class. First and second place winners in each class will be honored, and a MVP will be selected, winning the Dr. Lube Sportsmanship Trophy, the most highly regarded award of the tournament. Tickets are $7.00 and can be purchased at the East Side Catholic High School gymnasium ticket window. All proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships benefit upcoming area wrestling tournaments.
