VAN NUYS, Calif.--Dec. 29, 2005--"Xtreme" Cars Pack Booth #K700, Flaunting the Latest Mobile Electronics as Leading Specialty Retailer and Customizer Continues to "Rock" the Automotive Aftermarket |
Nine bold and innovative customized show cars lead the way as Al & Ed's Autosound, Southern California's largest and oldest mobile electronics and communications specialist, gets set to exhibit nine vehicles featuring the latest in mobile electronics and car customization in Booth #K700 in Kentia Hall at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Taken to new heights this year, show visitors will be treated to the ultimate tailgating machine, complete with a fully functional stainless steel propane BBQ; the audio/video dream machine Mini, featuring a custom-molded and center-oriented vehicle cockpit valued at over $500,000; and the only Phantom with 24" custom chrome wheels with the floating Rolls Royce emblem, onscreen iPod programming and Brembo brakes.
All nine cars, valued over $2 million, represent Al & Ed's Autosound's reputation for personalization and customization -- adapting any car to the specifications and personality of its owner, no matter how "tame" or "Xtreme" the customer may be.
"These cars are guaranteed to make show attendees stop and gawk," said Mr. Mobile Electronics, also known as John Haynes, chief technology buyer at Al & Ed's Autosound. "All of our show cars will demonstrate the extent to which we integrate technology with flawless precision and ingenuity."
The show cars on display at Booth #K700 will include:
Chevrolet SSR Tailgater: A truck for the true sports fan, the custom-designed SSR's bed is fully motorized and opens to reveal a stainless steel propane BBQ to provide grilled delicacies to go with the tunes blasted out of four Eclipse 10" subwoofers. Rounding out the audio performance, the SSR uses Eclipse 4-channel premium amplifiers and two different 3-Way Component speakers with Eclipse's Sirius Satellite Tuner and merges audio and video entertainment using the Eclipse AVN5495 DVD Navigation Head Unit. A KVH Tracvision Satellite TV Receiver coupled with a Vizio L32 32" LCD Television brings crisp and clear sports coverage to this truck, and to enhance the traveling experience of the Chevy SSR, Eibach Lowering Springs, BF Goodrich Tires, and a Magnaflow Stainless Steel Exhaust system were installed.
$500,000 Alpine Mini Cooper: The research and development engineers at Alpine completely handcrafted this Mini into a single passenger audio/video dream machine. The windshield, windows and moldings were removed, and the driver seat was shifted to the center of the vehicle and motorizes in and out of the custom-molded and center-oriented vehicle cockpit. The audio improvements are vast and include six amplifiers; 20 speakers, including tweeters, mid-range drivers, and subwoofers; and a digital processor to handle surround sound. To complement the audio power of the Alpine Mini, six video monitors are stationed inside the vehicle with a seventh installed in the rear of the vehicle featuring touch-screen capabilities. To support the weight of the vehicle's components, engineers added KW Suspension coil covers, 20" OZ Superleggera III rims, Brembo brakes, and to bring aesthetic appeal to the Mini, the exterior went through a rigorous process of priming, buffing, airbrushing and coating.
2005 Rolls Royce Phantom: Valued at $350,000 this is Al & Ed's Autosound's latest "Xtreme Edition" custom car, featuring various innovative modifications. The "Xtreme" makeover began with a wheel upgrade from the stock 21" to 24" custom, chrome wheels with original adapted technology to simulate the floating Rolls Royce logo, and the stock brakes were replaced with custom-made, high-performance, Brembo's brakes, painted yellow. Interior improvements include a modified factory in-dash monitor with onscreen programming for an iPod, XM satellite radio, back-up camera and DVD, with a 10.2" wide-screen, flip-down monitor for the rear passengers. A K40 radar/laser detector is installed as a guard against speeding tickets.
The Al & Ed's Autosound "Xtreme" booth will also feature, the 2005 A-E Edition Mini Cooper S outfitted by AC Schnitzer, the iPod Range Rover, Mercedes G-Wagon, Bentley GT, and the Ferrari F50.
"For over 50 years we have been pioneering the way. This year will be no different, as we turn the corner on the next 50, with breakout car customization and personalization," said Gabi Mashal, president of Al & Ed's Autosound. "At our booth this year, we have more cars with more customization to show the expanded breadth of our expertise and services -- 'Xtreme' creativity and craftsmanship."
The LA Auto Show is held at the Los Angeles Convention Center and the aftermarket exhibits will be on the lower level, in Kentia Hall. The show's media days are on January 4 and 5, and it will be open to the public from January 6 to January 15. For more information, visit http://www.al-eds.com.
