Al & Ed's Autosound, Southern California's oldest and largest mobile electronics and communications specialist, demonstrates "mobile electronics artwork" on the 2006 Project Car, showcasing seamless integration of DVD video, 5.1 surround sound, navigation, satellite radio and more. The Greater Los Angeles Auto Show will unveil the customized 2006 Mark V Jetta, to kick-off the annual auto show, which opens to the public on January 6, 2006, representing the most innovative vehicles and technologies of the coming year.
"Every year automakers add standard features into their regular car line-up -- DVD players, CD changers, navigation -- but most car-buyers don't realize that those technologies were first introduced in the aftermarket by companies like ours," said Mr. Mobile Electronics, otherwise known as John Haynes, the chief technology buyer for Al & Ed's Autosound. "Southern California car culture is all about customization and mobile electronics, and we are happy to present the LA Autoshow with the hottest products the aftermarket industry has to offer."
This year's project car features an arsenal of Alpine Electronics components, including 5.1-surround sound, DVD video, iPod integration, satellite navigation and over 160 digital channels of XM Satellite Radio. What's more, passengers in the rear of the car are in complete control of their media experience, as headrest DVD players, separate iPod inputs and headphone jacks allow "back seat drivers" to make their own entertainment choices without disturbing passengers in the front of the car. The entire system is connected using Monster Cable, ensuring top-quality sound at all times.
"When a new car is brought into our store, it is a blank piece of canvas for us to customize, and the LA Auto Show is a great opportunity for LA drivers to see how we can create a car that reflects their personality," said Gabi Mashal, president of Al & Ed's Autosound. "It is rewarding to see that more car buyers are realizing that a personalized car is within reach."
The project car will be unveiled to the media on January 4th and will remain at the entrance of the show until January 16th. For more information on the mobile electronics featured in the project car, visit http://www.al-eds.com.
