Iteris Receives Order from Georgia Department of Transportation for Its Vantage(TM) Video Detection Systems

ANAHEIM, Calif.--Dec. 2, 20052, 2005--

-- State's Early Success with Video Detection Systems Result in Larger Deployment to Help Improve Traffic Flow and Reduce Driver Delays --

Iteris, Inc. (AMEX:ITI), a leader in the development of vision-based technology that optimizes traffic flow and enhances driver safety, today announced that the company and its regional distributor, Temple, Inc., received an order for 100 of its Vantage Video Detection systems from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), extending its established relationship with the State. The Iteris team is pleased that the success from the deployment of our Vantage systems in parts of Georgia has resulted in another significant order from the GDOT," said Michael T. Volling, business development manager for Iteris. "This order further underscores the growing popularity of our Vantage product and the transportation industry's acceptance of video detection as an effective replacement for traditional in-pavement inductive loops."

Vantage is one of the leading vehicle detection systems in the country. It is a non-intrusive video-based system used to replace in-pavement inductive loops for traffic signal control and traffic data collection applications. The Vantage systems are used to optimize the operation of traffic signals, reducing delays and congestion for the motoring public. The additional benefits of video detection include improved lifecycle costs, reduced installation time and expense, ease-of-use and the ability to capture video images for surveillance or homeland security applications.

Iteris was awarded an Open Agency contract in March of this year which allows any public agency within the state of Georgia, in addition to GDOT, to readily procure Iteris' Vantage video detection systems using the state contract, which significantly simplifies the process. This new order for 100 cameras and sensors is expected to be shipped in the December quarter and is equivalent to approximately 25 intersections.

"Temple is excited to see that agencies throughout Georgia have recognized the flexibility and many benefits associated with the Vantage video detection systems," said Blair Temple, vice president of Temple, Inc. "We look forward to a continued relationship with the GDOT and other public agencies within Georgia for additional deployment of our video detection systems."

Vantage cameras have been deployed by hundreds of agencies in 49 states, as well as Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. The product is currently sold through a network of over 20 independent dealers in North America, Asia, Europe, and South America.
