Hyundai Invests More Money in Michigan Technical Center
Washington DC December 21, 2005; The AIADA newsletter reported that Hyundai will invest $94 million for expansion of its new technical center near Ann Arbor, MI. The move will result in 600 additional jobs, reports The Detroit News. The South Korean automaker opened the technical plant back on October 13. "Hyundai’s continued investment in our state is a testament to our global leadership in automotive research and development," Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm said. Granholm has tried to persuade automakers of all countries to set up operations in the state to help offset a decline in manufacturing jobs.
