Dunlop Rated Tops on J.D. Power New-Tire Survey in Japan
AKRON, Ohio, Dec. 21, 2005 – Dunlop received the highest J.D. Power Asia Pacific customer satisfaction rating for its
original-equipment tires on Japanese compact cars.
J.D. Power and Associates said Dunlop tires outscored its competitors on quality and durability, fuel economy, handling and
traction. The tire brand also came in second in the study on passenger cars.
Andy Traicoff, Dunlop director of marketing in North America, said Dunlop’s top finish in the Japan Original Equipment Tire
Customer Satisfaction Index Study is important, because many Japanese cars are exported to the United States and Canada. Survey
results were announced today.
“We’re obviously pleased with Dunlop’s showing on compact performance cars, particularly in ride comfort, handling and traction
areas. Dunlop has always been the drivers’ brand, and it is proving its worth among Japanese drivers,?? Traicoff said.
The study, in its fourth year, measures customer satisfaction on new tire appearance, quality and durability, ride comfort,
handling, traction and contribution to fuel economy. J.D. Power Asia Pacific, established in 1990, conducts customer satisfaction
research and provides consulting services in the automotive, information technology and finance industries.
