WIX Filters to Offer Petty Talladega Torino Ford Die Cast Collectible

 

Pre-sell Period Runs From February Through April

 

WIX to Donate $1 From Every Die Cast Sold to Victory Junction Gang Camp

 

GASTONIA, N.C. (Dec. 21, 2005) - WIX Filters has announced the latest
offering in the company's Route WIX Die Cast Collectible Promotion, a
1/24 scale replica of the 1969 Talladega Torino Ford that racing legend
Richard Petty drove to his 100th NASCAR victory.

The pre-sell period for distributors runs from February to April 15,
2006, with the promotion extending from October to December 2006.

The 1969 Talladega Torino Ford - the only die cast replica ever produced
to celebrate Petty's 100th NASCAR win - commemorates the only year that
Petty drove a Ford in NASCAR competition. The Route WIX collectible also
is the only die cast replica of any scale that has the design and
approval of both Holman Moody and Ford.

The first NASCAR-licensed die cast to be offered through the Route WIX
Collectible Promotion, the 1969 Talladega Torino Ford represents not
only a time when Petty used WIX filters, but also a period when he was a
spokesperson for WIX. The car was designed by Holman Moody, the most
successful racing operation of the 1960s and 1970s. Holman Moody's

Continuing its commitment to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, which began
with a donation of a year's supply of oil, air and fuel filters earlier
this year, WIX Filters will donate $1 for every die cast sold to the
camp for seriously ill children. Founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and
his wife, Pattie, in honor of their late son Adam, the camp is free of
charge to children and their families. Located in Randleman, N.C., on
land donated by Richard Petty and his wife, Lynda, the Victory Junction
Gang Camp is the only year-round multi-disease facility of its kind in
the Carolinas and Virginia.
