Herta Returns with XM Satellite Radio for Third IndyCar Season

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 20, 2005) - For the third-consecutive season, Bryan Herta will pilot the #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone for Andretti Green Racing in the Indy Racing League® IndyCar® Series.

Herta capped the 2005 campaign with an eighth-place finish in the IndyCar Series championship. Herta recorded the first IndyCar Series victory in the XM Satellite Radio car, and his second win overall, by capturing the pole position and leading 159 laps at Michigan International Speedway in July. He is one of only 22 drivers to have two or more career victories in the IndyCar Series.

For the season, Herta captured three pole positions, tying him for the most by any driver in 2005, and he was the only driver to record a pole position on a road course, a short oval and a superspeedway. Herta has four career major open-wheel victories and 10 poles. He has started the Indianapolis 500 four times with a career-best third-place finish coming in 2005.

XM Satellite Radio, the Exclusive Satellite Radio Partner of the IndyCar Series, is America's number one satellite radio service with more than five million subscribers. Broadcasting live daily from studios in Washington, D.C., New York City and Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame, XM's 2005 lineup includes more than 160 digital channels.

Herta will join Tony Kanaan, Dario Franchitti and Marco Andretti in the four-car Andretti Green Racing operation for 2006. For the 90th running of the Indianapolis 500, the team will add a fifth car to be driven by team owner Michael Andretti. It will be Andretti's 15th start at the famed track and will mark the first time since 1994 that a father and son have competed at Indianapolis.

The 2006 IndyCar Series season begins on Sunday, March 26, from Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 14-race season will feature 11 oval tracks, 2 permanent road courses and one temporary street circuit.

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone: "Clearly, my first choice was to return to Andretti Green Racing for another season. They have proven to be one of the very best auto racing teams in the world and I feel very fortunate to be a part of their team. I'm very glad to have the continuity of having XM Satellite Radio return as a sponsor and essentially the same group of engineers and mechanics working with me. This will be our third year with XM Satellite Radio and I think we made great strides last year. We hope to build on that. My goal this season is to compete for a championship and a win in the Indianapolis 500."

Kevin Savoree, Co-Owner, Andretti Green Racing: "Bryan and XM Satellite Radio have proven to be a perfect combination since getting together in 2004. Bryan's win earlier this year in the XM car at Michigan was one of the most gratifying wins of the year for us and was hopefully a sign of something we'll see more in 2006."

Howard Jacobs, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnership and Marketing, XM Satellite Radio: "Bryan is a champion on and off the track. He's an outstanding driver and a terrific individual, and we are very proud to be a part of his winning team. XM has a strong, multi-faceted partnership with the IndyCar Series, including live broadcasts of every race as the official satellite radio network of the league, and we are pleased to extend our relationship with Bryan and Andretti Green Racing."
