Plexus Systems to Receive Hall of Justice Award from Justice for Children
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 20, 2005 -- Plexus Systems has been chosen by the Michigan Chapter of Justice for Children to receive its prestigious 2006 Hall of Justice award.
This award is presented annually to individuals or corporations that go above and beyond the call of duty to assist Justice for Children in rescuing abused and neglected children. Plexus Systems is being recognized for providing its Plexus Online information system to Justice for Children so it can quickly and accurately track and identify cases through a central national database.
Prior to its installation, police departments, states and organizations kept separate records, often manually, which made it easy for child abusers to move from state to state and avoid detection.
"Every year thousands of innocent children are abused," said Rob Beatty, Plexus Systems CEO. "We are humbled and pleased to be recognized for our part in helping protect children who are in danger."
Plexus Systems designs, develops, and hosts Plexus Online, a fully- integrated online information system used to help companies streamline their operations. It allows those organizations to track and manage their entire business in real time through a web browser, including sales, purchasing, quality, inventory management, shipping accounting, and more.
"When I learned how Plexus Online is successfully helping companies integrate their operations I asked Plexus if they could do something like this for Justice for Children," said Chip St. Clair, Michigan's regional director of Justice for Children. "Plexus came up with an ideal approach and we've implanted Plexus Online into Justice for Children at a national level. It has had a tremendous impact on our ability to quickly track and identify cases."
Plexus Online is accessible to authorized personnel through the Internet so Justice for Children avoids the cost and complexities of buying and maintaining software, servers and other IT infrastructure. It also allows the organization to manage donations, coordinate legal resources and handle many other details associated with the organization.
"The Hall of Justice award acknowledges companies and people who have done so much for children," St. Clair said. "When you get a community behind a program there is no limit to what you can accomplish."
The award will be presented on April 8 at Justice for Children's annual black tie event, "Journey of Justice," at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan. John Walsh of America's Most Wanted and Alison Arngrim of NBC's Little House on the Prairie will receive the group's Friend of a Child award at the event.
