First Street isn't the most common, nor is Main Street. What about Fangboner
Rd.?

Whether you're heading to Grandma's house for the holidays, or off on a
drive to sunnier climes, you can run into some pretty odd things along the
way - starting with an assortment of wild, weird and wacky street names.

 The folks at
TheCarConnection.com have spotted plenty of them during our travels, like
Chicken Shack Lane and Lois Lane Drive. We've even kicked off a political
debate inAnn Arbor, Mich., after passing Nixon Bluett Road. There are some
unabashedly naughty street names, like Big Beaver Rd., which just happens to
be exit 69 on Interstate 75, in Troy, Mich. Then again, we're not sure what
to think about Toledo, Ohio's menacing Fangboner Rd. Oh, and sometimes
things come together in odd ways at an intersection - like New York City's
Bangher (Ave.) and Leever (St.).

We're betting our readers have their own favorites - lots of them, in fact -
and we'd love to hear what you've come across in your own travels. To add a
little encouragement, we'll offer some prizes for the best entries in our
First Annual Wild, Weird, and Wacky Street Names Contest. Top prize is a
portable navigation system; other prizes include computer-driven navigation
programs and random tschotschkes we've dug out of the TCC prize closet.

It's easy to enter. Simply send your entry to Contest@TheCarConnection.com.

Here are the very simple rules:

*

javascript:zoom('/images/gallery/10498_POOLSYFZTAOKH.jpg');

 All street
names need to be real and verifiable. We may get a laugh out of your made-up
street name but we'll actually be looking for those we can find on Mapquest
or similar sites. Give us some details where to look on a map, or on one of
the online mapping services, for additional consideration.
*	We'll give more consideration to entries that include photos.
Doctored pics will be grounds for immediate rejection, and may lead to
having your PhotoShop license revoked.
*	Where duplicate street names are supplied, winners will be selected
by dumb luck.
*	This is an absolutely non-scientific contest. We'll base all choices
on how much we laugh or gasp, how much we shock our families and friends,
and possibly upon the reaction of our readers. But in the end, all decisions
are those of the editors of TheCarConnection.com and are non-disputable.
Digital entries will not be returned, though we may forward them to folks we
know in other countries.
*	We encourage our employees and immediate family members to weigh in
with offerings of their own, but they are ineligible to win, as are
employees and immediate family of TCC's partners and advertisers.
*	Oh, and please do not submit photo files much larger

 than one
megabyte. It's just a waste of bandwidth, you know. Ideally, submit the pics
at 1024 pixels wide and 72-dpi resolution.
*	Our contest runs from Dec. 19, 2005, to January 31, 2006. Entrants
must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Contest void where
prohibited. All prizes carry a value of $1000 or less.
*	America Online is in no way a sponsor or associate sponsor of this
promotion.
*	Contest is sponsored by TheCarConnection.com, LLC. 22 Cambridge,
Pleasant Ridge, Mich. 48069. Questions may be directed to
contest@thecarconnection.com.
