Leica Geosystems Receives Chinese Outstanding Product Award
Leading Chinese Trade Magazine Awards Top Honors to Innovative Leica Laser Tracker, T-Probe & T-Scan Universal CMM Solution
Beijing, China -- December 19, 2005 -- Leica Geosystems’ innovative line of Universal CMM products was recognized by a leading Chinese trade magazine, “Automobile Industry,” for its leadership in promoting new technologies and manufacturing equipment in the automobile industry. The award ceremony was held on November 30, 2005 in Shanghai’s Intercontinental Hotel.
Wanting to recognize and encourage technological progress in the automotive industry, the publication had launched a 3-month-long selection process that involved a team of 67 industry experts who looked at 250 select companies. At the same time, an online survey was conducted among the readership. All opinions and survey results were tallied and evaluated, and a list of 10 finalists was made public. Leica Geosystems emerged at the top and received recognition for its innovative line of Universal CMM products, including the Leica Laser Tracker, Leica T-Probe II and Leica T-Scan.
“Leica Geosystems was recognized for our groundbreaking technologies that combine large measurement ranges, true portability, top accuracy capabilities and imperviousness to environmental influences, giving us a large share of the global industrial metrology market. We have delivered over 60 installations in China alone, which puts us in the number-one position on the Chinese market. In addition to the “2004 Industrial Automation Product Innovation of the Year Award” from Frost & Sullivan, the 2005 “Automotive Industry Outstanding Product Award” is another piece of evidence that our hand-held probing and scanning solutions are at the absolute cutting edge of today’s industrial metrology technologies,” said Connie Zhang, Marketing Manager Greater China for Leica Geosystems.
