IDG's Computerworld Honors Kay Palmer of J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. as a 2006 Premier 100 IT Leader
LOWELL, Ark.--Dec. 1, 20055, 2005--J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. today announced that Kay Palmer, Chief Information Officer for J.B. Hunt, has been recognized by IDG's Computerworld, the "Voice of IT Management," as one of the business world's Premier 100 IT Leaders. Honorees, including Ms. Palmer, will be honored at a special, black-tie ceremony at Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference, taking place March 5-7, 2006 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert, California.The Premier 100 IT Leaders Awards Program honors executives who show exemplary technology leadership in resolving pressing business problems. Honorees demonstrate the ability to foster creativity and challenging work environments, envision fresh approaches to business challenges and effectively manage IT investments.
Ms. Palmer was selected from nearly 500 nominees, who were measured against Computerworld's IT Leadership Index, a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations, and evaluated by the editors and by an external panel of outside judges.

Ms. Palmer began her career with J.B. Hunt in 1988. After six years with the company, she was promoted to Vice President of Applications. She assumed the role of Chief Information Officer in early 1999 and was promoted to Executive Vice President the following year. Under her management, J.B. Hunt has been listed among Computerworld's Top 100 Places to Work in IT the past five consecutive years and has become recognized as one the leading information technology departments in the transportation industry. She is a magna cum laude graduate from Harding University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
