Flexpoint Files Patent for Humidity Measuring Bend Sensor(R)

DRAPER, Utah--Dec. 1, 20055, 2005--Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:FLXT) today announced the company recently filed a patent for a Hygrometer Bend Sensor(R); a hygrometer is an instrument that measures the moisture content or the humidity of air or any gas. This technology opens an entirely new market for Flexpoint and its patented technologies.

Flexpoint's Research and Development Engineers originally discovered the Bend Sensor's ability to measure humidity while working on automotive applications. The engineers realized that by changing the sensor's chemical compounds and bending the sensor to reveal its microscopic fractures, the sensor could very accurately measure changes in electrical resistance that is affected by humidity.

The sensor has proven so accurate that initial test results shared with OEM's have attracted strong interest. These tests were conducted in environmental chambers where Flexpoint's humidity sensor proved to be extremely accurate and a dramatic improvement over comparable hygrometers on the market.

Hygrometers are used in numerous applications across several industries and sectors. Flexpoint is in negotiations with R&D Products to include a humidity sensor in every medical bed to alert caregivers of bed moisture. Another ideal application is in clothes dryers where the sensor could turn the dryer off when the load is completely dry, saving time and energy cost. Other potential markets include measuring humidity in homes and buildings for temperature controls, as well as, measuring moisture during the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, perishable foods, paper, and chemicals.

"This is truly a breakthrough technology for Flexpoint and opens a whole new market for our sensors. We expect the humidity sensor will be very important to the future of our company and is one of many technologies our R&D Engineers are developing and looking to patent," stated CEO of Flexpoint, Clark Mower. "We have shared our initial results with manufacturers that use an extensive amount of hygrometers in their appliances. They are extremely interested in this application as our sensors provide increased accuracy and reliability at a lower cost. A better product at a lower price is a win-win in any business."

Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. has developed and patented the Bend Sensor(R) Technology. The Bend Sensor is a technological breakthrough that offers a superior solution for applications that require accurate measurement and sensing of deflection, acceleration and range of motion. Global market opportunities include automotive, medical, industrial controls, government, health and fitness, security, computer, aerospace, transportation and consumer products.
