Honda St. Pete Grand Prix Information
Renewal requests have been mailed out to 2005 ticket holders, which offer them the first opportunity to reserve seats for the 2006 event. 2005 customers have until Jan. 15, 2006, to return a ticket order for those seats. After that date, any tickets not renewed will be added to the allotment available to the general public. In addition to individual ticket sales, the Honda Grand Prix is offering a group ticket special that includes a free IRL paddock pass (a $55 value) for groups that purchase 20 or more three-day reserved tickets. Corporate hospitality and sponsorship packages are also still available.
The event is scheduled to be held March 30 through April 2 with the race action slated to be held again on a temporary street circuit in downtown St. Petersburg.
"We were pleased with the success of our inaugural 2005 event and expect tickets to be in high demand for next year's event, which will feature the return of Dan Wheldon, Danica Patrick and the rest of the IndyCar Series competitors," said Tim Ramsberger, vice president of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
The 2005 event, which marked the first-ever race for the Indy Racing League on a non-oval track, drew rave reviews as an overall event weekend and was highlighted by more than 20 hours of on-track activity, three performances by the Klein Tools Air Show and an XM Satellite Radio-sponsored post-race concert by the band Good Charlotte.
"We enjoyed a great race in 2005, but more importantly, a great event," said Ramsberger. "We're very excited about adding to the family fun and excitement of the Honda Grand Prix weekend for our ticket holders in 2006."
The 2006 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which will be the second race on the Indy Racing League schedule, will feature SCCA races and IRL Pro Series events on both Saturday and Sunday, and the IndyCar Series race on Sunday, April 2. An XM Satellite Radio-sponsored concert is also expected to be part of the weekend's activities.
This Friday also marks the first online availability of official Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg merchandise, just in time for the holidays.
