Our response to the EU safety mandates
Dear Bob Gates,
I read your article Jaguar "World First " at Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards Safety Award. I found the article very informative and thought your readers may be interested to learn about new technologies designed to reduce pedestrian fatalities.
As you may know the European Union has mandated that all new vehicles sold after 2005 must meet stringent pedestrian safety standards. Annually 9,000 pedestrians and cyclists, or 25 per day, are killed as a result of automotive accidents in the European countries. The EU is forcing automakers to take accountability for their products and design vehicles that are pedestrian friendly in an effort to reduce fatalities.
Flexpoint Systems, located in Utah, believes these mandates for automakers should and will eventually be implemented in the United States. They developed patented sensor technology capable of determining the difference between a human leg and a inanimate object.
I assist Flexpoint with it's public relations and am interested in spreading the word about pedestrain safety. If you feel your readers would be curious to learn more about the European mandates and Flexpoint's technology please give me a call.
Their website can be found at www.Flexpoint.com where you can view their future products.
