10 Years Later Ziff Davis Launches TechnoRide.com

But First Snide's Remarks: It’s amazing to us here at The Auto Channel that it has taken the Ziff Davis publishing genius' so many years to finally recognize what we at TACh have known all along...that technology and car stuff does mix.

For past 10 years our readers have had access to tens of thousands of stories that tied technology and autos together...you can find these in our Cars and Computers news index.

So I welcome Ziff Davis to our world. We hope you have better luck selling advertising than we have had...maybe now that Ziff Davis says that technology and the auto is really important the media sheep at the advertising agencies may just bah bah along to our content as well...but don’t hold your breath.

Let me know what you think; msnide@theautochannel.com.

NEW YORK, Dec. 5, 2005 -- Ziff Davis announced today the launch of its newest consumer Web property, TechnoRide.com. Focused entirely on the applications and uses of technology in cars, TechnoRide is the car site for technology enthusiasts.

Due to TechnoRide.com's strong traffic growth on PCMag.com, the website is scheduled to launch as a stand-alone Web site in December 2005. TechnoRide.com will serve as a news hub for all automotive technology coverage at Ziff Davis.

"Cars today are more sophisticated than ever, both in terms of their telematics, (on-board electronics), and their comfort features, and there are lots of options available for entertainment and navigation," said Jim Louderback, Editor-in-Chief, Ziff Davis Internet. "TechnoRide provides a unique focused mix of news, reviews and insight, that's both an invaluable resource for consumers choosing the best technology for their automotive needs, and it's a terrific read for folks who love cars and technology."

TechnoRide provides comprehensive reviews -- from satellite radio, GPS and car audio and video as well the entire automobile from a technology perspective. TechnoRide.com, led by longtime technology journalist and PC Magazine columnist, Bill Howard, will launch with a full line-up of editorial coverage including:
