Shoe Named Champion of Champions
TONY SCHUMACHER NAMED CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
Moorpark, Calif. - (December 5, 2005) Ringers Gloves would like to
congratulate Tony Schumacher and his U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster team on collecting
the Economaki Champion of Champions award at the 18th annual Performance Racing
Industry Trade Show in Orlando, Fla.
After an unprecedented season, Shoe was the first National Hot Rod
Association (NHRA) racer to breakthrough and collect the honorable award named after
National Speed Sport News’ illustrious editor, Chris Economaki.
The Champion of Champions award was not the only honor the three-time Top
Fuel champ was up for. He was also nominated for the American Auto Racing
Writers and Broadcasters Association (AARWBA) Driver of the Year – Jerry Titus
Award.
Schumacher and the rest of the NHRA stars begin their 2006 season at the
CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals, February 9-12, at the historic Pomona
Raceway in Pomona, Calif.
