3D Systems Delivers a New Engineered, Production-Grade Plastic -- DuraForm(R) EX Plastic

VALENCIA, Calif.--Dec. 5, 2005--3D Systems Corporation , a leading provider of rapid 3-D printing, prototyping and manufacturing solutions, announced today the introduction of DuraForm(R) EX plastic, a new, advanced, engineered, production-grade plastic for rapid manufacturing. The company plans to offer DuraForm EX plastic for use in its new Sinterstation(R) Pro SLS(R) systems during the first quarter of 2006 and to make it available for use in its Sinterstation HiQ(TM) SLS(R) systems in the second half of 2006.

"This revolutionary new product is exactly what the rapid manufacturing industry has been waiting for," said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' President and Chief Executive Officer. "In fact, DuraForm EX plastic is the first rapid manufacturing material to offer the toughness and impact-resistance found in injection molded plastics. Its outstanding combination of performance characteristics makes DuraForm EX ideal for advanced functional prototyping, rapid manufacturing applications and end-use parts.

"Expanding our portfolio of customer-driven manufacturing solutions continues to be a top priority for us," continued Reichental. "DuraForm EX plastic reflects our ongoing commitment to listen to our customers, capture and to translate their specific requirements into a production-grade material that meets their manufacturing needs. DuraForm EX plastic provides the toughness of injection-molded plastic that our aerospace, automotive and motorsports customers require for demanding prototyping and low- to mid-volume manufacturing applications. Because of its stiffness, heat-resistance, long-term stability and durability, DuraForm EX is ideal for a wide variety of parts manufacturing, including environmental ducts, electronics enclosures, manifolds, dashboards and bumpers.

"We are very excited to deliver this advanced manufacturing material for our Selective Laser Sintering product line. This is another significant building block in our comprehensive strategy to advance the state of rapid manufacturing by providing new and innovative solutions to replace and displace today's traditional manufacturing methods," concluded Reichental.
