A&D Technology, Inc. Releases Enhanced Combustion Analysis Software
ANN ARBOR, Mich.--Nov. 2, 20058, 2005--A&D Technology, Inc. today announced the release of CAS 3.1, its popular combustion analysis software. Featuring enhanced injection and event timing measurements, a more flexible post-processing tool and a COM interface to The MathWorks' MATLAB technical computing environment, CAS 3.1 takes real-time combustion analysis to the next level in flexibility and extendibility. Additional features include analysis on up to 16 cylinders, knock analysis using knock sensor inputs and/or cylinder pressure signals, and a powerful second logging trigger that allows the user to monitor the engine for critical events while taking data."The COM interface to MATLAB provides access to the world's most powerful technical computing environment to implement and test custom combustion algorithms for online processing of any CAS input," said Craig Giraud, Product Marketing Manager. "It allows our users to extend the functionality of their CAS system without learning a proprietary programming or scripting language."
"CAS 3.1 represents our commitment to provide users with the ultimate in flexible, extensible powertrain testing and development tools," said Rob Lamb, Global Marketing Manager. "This exemplifies why test professionals worldwide turn to A&D for innovative solutions to enhance lab productivity and reduce time-to-market."
The CAS system provides developers and calibrators with a powerful tool for evaluating engine performance in real-time. CAS 3.1 adds several significant enhancements to fuel injection measurement, including measuring up to 10 events per cycle per cylinder, and associating the fuel injection event with the measurement of the actual torque it created. This allows instant evaluation of changes in input parameters. Changes in ECU strategy, such as fueling spark angle, cam phasing and EGR can be analyzed immediately, making CAS unique in the combustion analysis market.
