Raser Technologies Inc. Management to Present at the Electric Drive Transportation Association Conference & Exhibition 2005
PROVO, Utah--Nov. 28, 2005--Raser Technologies Inc. (PCX: RZ) ("Raser"), a technology licensing company that develops and licenses advanced electric motor, electronic motor drive and related technologies, announced today that Chief Technology Officer and Sr. V.P. Timothy Fehr and Vice President of Marketing David West will be presenting at the Electric Drive Transportation Association ("EDTA") Conference & Exposition 2005, one of the premier North American electric drive industry events. Significant attendees to this three-day event include the U.S. Department of Energy-Advanced Vehicle Testing, Lexus, Toyota Motors, American Honda Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler, among others. The conference will be held at the Vancouver Convention Center in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on Dec. 6-8.Fehr is presenting on Wednesday, Dec. 7, and will be discussing Raser's patented Symetron(TM) technology and its breakthrough impact relating to high power density, high torque density and efficient motors and generators. Raser's Symetron(TM) technology is based on proprietary rotor design, advanced stator design and increased magnetic energy storage and proprietary controller design, which together yields increased torque without sacrificing efficiency.
"The EDTA conference is an important gathering of industry leaders and provides us with an ideal opportunity to present our recent technology developments to potential customers," said Fehr. "In this conference we will be presenting important new updates on our progress in improving the torque density of our traction motor drives for the transportation industry."
On Dec. 8, 2005, West and a panel of Consortium members will be presenting on behalf of the Plug-In Hybrid Development Consortium (the "Consortium"), of which Raser is a founding member. The Consortium was organized to help reduce the R&D gap between component suppliers and OEMs; and to coordinate and accelerate the development of critical new solutions while reducing the development time for the next-generation hybrid vehicles. Along with Raser, the members of this growing Consortium plan to develop compatible components and cost-effective working designs that would enable a plug-in hybrid that achieves 100-200 total mpg petroleum economy by driving its first 20-50 miles in all electric zero emission mode. This "Dual Mode" PHEV will then continue to operate in a high-efficiency hybrid electric mode to achieve conventional range of operation.
About the Electric Drive Transportation Association
The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) is the pre-eminent industry association dedicated to advancing electric drive as a core technology on the road to sustainable mobility. As an advocate for the adoption of electric drive technologies, EDTA serves as the unified voice for the industry and is the primary source of information and education related to electric drive. Our membership includes a diverse representation of vehicle and equipment manufacturers, energy providers, component suppliers and end users. Further information on the EDTA and the conference may be found at: www.electricdrive.org and www.edtaconference.com.
About the Plug-In Hybrid Development Consortium
The Plug-In Hybrid Development Consortium is made up of key component suppliers who intend to work together with participating automobile manufacturers to coordinate and accelerate the development of key hybrid components and demonstrate these advanced technologies in "next generation" plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Membership is divided into two groups: developers, made up of component suppliers; and advisors, made up of complementary organizations with compatible goals to benefit mutually from Consortium research & development. Phase 1 membership is not exclusive. Further information on the Advanced Hybrid Consortium may be found at: www.hybridconsortium.org.
About Raser Technologies
Formed in 2003, Raser believes that its current and pending patents and proprietary intellectual property cover breakthrough technologies. Raser's Symetron(TM) technologies more efficiently harness electrical energy in electric motors, electronic motor drives and controllers, alternator and generator technologies. Application of Symetron(TM) generally requires minor changes to existing manufacturing processes for motors or their controllers, but yields significant increases in power, performance and efficiency to the rotating electro-magnetic application without the use of exotic materials. Raser is headquartered in Provo, Utah. Further information on Raser may be found at: www.rasertech.com.
