Treasury and Risk Management Magazine Recognizes J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. with Prestigious Alexander Hamilton Award

LOWELL, Ark.--Nov. 2, 20051, 2005--J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. announced today that the Company has been recognized by Treasury and Risk Management magazine, the essential hands-on publication for financial executives, with the bronze 2005 Alexander Hamilton award for outstanding performance within the Insurance category.

The Alexander Hamilton Awards, named after the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, celebrate innovation and technical excellence in corporate treasury and finance operations. Companies submit projects undertaken by their treasury and finance teams, and an independent panel of experts scores each project for innovation, size and the potential to influence others. J.B. Hunt was the only transportation company to win an award in any category.

According to the November 2005 issue of the magazine, "J.B. Hunt decided to stem costs by focusing on its safety culture. The Company's safety group developed a loss prevention program that included increased communication with front-line managers about the previous day's accidents; a ramp-up of loss prevention programs, including defensive driver training for all the Company's drivers; and pre-employment screening for drivers to avoid workers comp claims on pre-existing conditions."

The publication noted several areas in which J.B. Hunt accomplished significant insurance savings in 2004 versus the same time period in 2003 including a 48% reduction in major accident claims as well as a 13% reduction in major workers compensation claims.
