Pratt & Whitney Wins V2500 Engine Sale to ILFC
DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, Nov. 21, 2005 -- Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. , has won business worth approximately $250 million as its share of an order for V2500 engines from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC).
International Aero Engines (IAE), in which Pratt & Whitney is a leading shareowner, announced the ILFC order for V2500 engines to power up to 45 Airbus A320 family aircraft.

ILFC already has 142 V2500-powered aircraft in operation with a further 63 on firm order. This additional order is made up of 30 firm and 15 options for Airbus A320 aircraft.
The 22,000-33,000 lb. of thrust V2500-A5 is available in seven different thrust settings to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft as well as the A319 Corporate Jet.
IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders comprise Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, the Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines. More than 1,300 V2500-powered aircraft have been delivered, and the worldwide fleet has accumulated more than 33 million flying hours.
