Collins & Aikman Awarded Business from Two New Domestic Automakers

TROY, Mich., Nov. 18, 2005 -- Collins & Aikman Corporation (CKCRQ) announced today that it has recently been awarded contracts to supply future accessory mat programs by two different "new domestic" automakers.

Collins & Aikman will grow its position as the leader in the U.S. accessory mat segment by winning these contracts. Collins & Aikman will utilize its patented Akro Edge(R) technology when supplying complete accessory mat sets for the luxury mid-size sedan and a serged-edge construction supporting the luxury sports sedan models beginning in 2006.

Collins & Aikman's Albemarle, NC; Canton, OH; and Holmesville, OH facilities will produce the components to support the programs.
