2006 Porsche 911(R) Carrera(R) 4 Coupes and Cabriolets Launch From North American Dealerships

'The Power of 4': Porsche's new all-wheel-drive 911 hardtop and convertible models arrive on Porsche showroom floors starting this weekend.

ATLANTA, Nov. 17 -- Just in time for slippery-road season, the much anticipated, all-wheel-drive versions of Porsche's latest 911 model debut this weekend in Porsche showrooms across North America. Both the hardtop 911 Carrera 4 and 4S(R) Coupe, and open-top 911 Carrera 4 and 4S Cabriolets sport a more dynamic and muscular stance, thanks to wider rear wheels and accompanying bodywork flared nearly two inches (44 mm) beyond the flanks of the two-wheel-drive 911 Carrera.

For the first time, four-wheel-drive 911 Carrera models will be available with two engine options. Carrera 4 Coupes and Cabriolets are powered by the proven, 325-horsepower (SAE), 3.6-liter flat-Six. Carrera 4S versions are equipped with a larger 3.8-liter powerplant that develops 355 hp (SAE). Both engines can propel the new 911 models to a top test-track speed above 170 mph (274 km/h). The entire 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 family is also available with Porsche's Active Suspension Management (PASM), allowing the driver to select between the comfort of a Grand Touring car and the track-ready precision of a genuine high performance sports car at the touch of a button.

The 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe is offered in the United States and Canada at a price of $77,100 USD and $112,800 CAD. The 911 Carrera 4S Coupe arrives at $87,100 USD and $127,500 CAD. The 2006 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet U.S. and Canadian prices are $87,100 USD and $127,500 CAD, while the 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet lists for $97,100 USD and $142,200 CAD.
