PennDOT Photo License Center Relocates To Commonwealth Auto Tags In Pottstown; Service To Area Customers Not Impacted

POTTSTOWN, Pa., Nov. 15, 2005 -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation today announced that its Photo License Center, currently at 344 King St., Pottstown, will relocate a mile away to the Commonwealth Auto Tags Agency, a PennDOT on-line messenger service provider, at 978 High St., Pottstown.

Photo license services will be offered to area customers at Commonwealth Auto Tags beginning Monday, Nov. 21.

"Relocating to the Commonwealth Auto Tags location is a cost-cutting measure that saves the commonwealth some $39,600 annually while providing Pottstown customers with needed photo license services," said Betty Serian, PennDOT's deputy secretary for safety administration. "This move also exemplifies the valued partnership we have with our online messengers like Commonwealth Auto Tags."

Business hours of the Photo License Center at Commonwealth Auto Tags remain the same: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.; and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

PennDOT's Photo License Center at 344 King Street will close permanently on Saturday, Nov. 19.

PennDOT's contractor, Pennsylvania Industries for the Blind and Handicapped, staffs the photo license centers.
