Merced County Releases Draft Environmental Impact Report for Riverside Motorsports Park Development

ATWATER, Calif.--Nov. 9, 2005--Riverside Motorsports Park LLC announces that the Merced County Planning Department has released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) pertaining to the company's proposed construction of a world-class motorsports facility on 1,200 acres adjacent to Castle Airport (formerly Castle Air Force Base) in California's Merced County. The County's release of this document initiates a 45-day public review period, pursuant to the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act. Copies of the DEIR may be obtained from the Merced County Planning Department (http://web.co.merced.ca.us/planning/ceqareports.html).

Approximately 3,000 pages in length, the DEIR documents 2-1/2 years of in-depth study and analysis of potential biological, air quality, water quality, land use, traffic and other impacts that could be associated with the development of Riverside Motorsports Park. The report was prepared under the direction of Merced County by lead consultant EDAW, Inc., Sacramento, Calif., with assistance from multiple consulting firms and more than 150 engineers, scientists and environmental professionals.

Also referenced in the report is a previously completed Economic Impact Report prepared by the Global Location Services Division of the Fluor Corporation, Greenville, S.C. . The Economic Impact Report identified that the Riverside Motorsports Park development would potentially generate more than $180 million of new business revenue for Merced County and employ more than 1,200 individuals.

Riverside Motorsports Park CEO John Condren commented, "For our development, the public release of the draft EIR by Merced County is a milestone accomplishment. It precedes the completion of the final EIR and the votes for approval of the project by the Merced County Planning Commission and the Merced County Board of Supervisors. We look forward to breaking ground in 2006."
