Carlsson Set To Debut CK50 S-Class

I have a confession to make. I'm in love... with Carlsson. Of all
the Mercedes tuners adding to and often detracting from the beauty of
Mercedes, few can compare to the elegance yet "sportiness" of
Carlsson. The Carlsson CK55 CLS is, in my opinion, simply gorgeous.
That's why when they sent me photos of their new S-Class, I was
pretty excited. Set to debut at the Essen Motor Show at the end of
the month, the new Carlsson S-Class, dubbed the CK50, is the finest
example of a tuner S-Class to date.
To begin with, as all good tuners do, Carlsson modified the engine.
By increasing the output of the engine from 388 horsepower to 435
horsepower, Carlsson created a luxury sedan that can accelerate from
0-60 in just 5.1 seconds. Add to that a top speed of 182 mph, and you
have a Mercedes that can rival the performance most sports cars.
To further enhance the CK50, Carlsson added a new exhaust system,
which features four catalytic converters as well as a middle and rear
silencer. The result is a car that sounds as good as it drives.
But it doesn't matter how well a car drives if it doesn't have the
looks to back it up. Enter a new front spoiler, side skirts, and
rear apron, as well as Carlsson's new 3/11 ultra light wheels. To
further strengthen the CK50's appearance, Carlsson added their new C-
Tronic suspension, which lowers the vehicles by 30mm.
To finish off the CK50, Carlsson addressed the interior. Accents of
Alcantara and leather are scattered throughout the interior, as well
as a new sport steering wheel available in your choice of Alcantara
and leather or leather and wood.
I know what you're thinking: "Enough with the long-winded
infomercial - we want pictures." Your wish is granted, my dear
readers. Check out the photos at

And by the way - we'll be sure to bring you more photos when the CK50
makes it's official debut later this month.
