AFL Automotive Recognized by President of Mexico for its Employment Practices
TORREON, Coahuila, Mexico--Nov. 8, 2005--Alcoa announced today that its AFL Automotive business located in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico was recognized by the President of Mexico Vicente Fox as an Inclusive Company for 2005 because of its policy and efforts in employing physically challenged people. AFL Automotive was given the distinction following a visit to Cableados de Norte, AFL Automotive's business in Torreon, by Jorge Eduardo Gonzalez Inurrigarro, Federal Subdelegate of Labor in Torreon, who is involved in the selection of Inclusive companies.As an Inclusive Company, AFL Automotive is eligible to receive consultation from the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare and precedence for various human resource training and development programs for a three year period, as well as other privileges, including use of the Inclusive Company logo.
