Busch Agrees: It's Miller Time

Miller and Penske Announce '04 Champion Kurt Busch Will Drive #2 Miller Lite Dodge, Beginning in 2006

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 7 -- Miller Brewing Company and Penske Racing South announced today that defending NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Kurt Busch will be the driver of the #2 Miller Lite Dodge, following this season's retirement of longtime racing legend Rusty Wallace. Busch's first race in the #2 Miller Lite car will be at Daytona in February. Miller also extended its contract with Penske Racing South through the 2010 season.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Busch will participate in a number of personal appearances at bars, retail outlets and events on behalf of the brewer. In addition, his likeness will be featured on Miller Lite's retail and on-premise merchandising materials, promotional programs and on the company's web sites.

"Kurt Busch is a winner, so we're very excited to welcome him to the Miller family," said Tom Long, Miller's chief marketing officer. "We knew replacing a legend such as Rusty wouldn't be easy, so we wanted to make sure we got a guy who knows how to win on the racetrack. He's a perfect fit in the Miller Lite car because we both have a relentless drive to succeed and a real passion for what we do."

Busch's career highlights include a win in NASCAR's inaugural "Chase for the NEXTEL Cup" championship by out-dueling nine of NASCAR's best drivers in 2004's battle for the Nextel Cup Championship. His championship season came on the heels of a year in which Busch had nine top-five and 14 top-10 finishes on his way to an 11th place finish in the championship standings in 2003. Originally from Las Vegas, the 27-year-old driver now lives in Charlotte.
