Tony Pedregon Captures the Third Spot

Pedregon & Q Racing Grabs Third
 
POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2004) ­ After three days of qualifying, Tony
Pedregon placed his Q Racing Nitro Funny Car in the third qualifying slot
for tomorrow's Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Pomona
Raceway. 

Pedregonšs pass of 4.710-second elapsed time at 329.99 mph during Fridayšs
qualifying session and was only surpassed today by his brother Cruz
(Pedregonšs) pass at 4.708 seconds. With four solid runs, Tony Pedregon is
confident his last day of competition for 2005 is a quality one. Pedregon
talked about his strategy heading into tomorrow's finale.

"Tomorrow the focus will be on racing the car," said Pedregon, the 2003
Funny Car champion. "We made good adjustments, the team and I have looked
back on the season and reviewed all the things that have made us grow as a
team. I think wešve accomplished a lot, but nothing like what we want to do
next year, we want to raise the bar.

"We were a little disappointed we didnšt get the top spot," Pedregon
continued. "It is a little reminder we expect the best out of everything. We
believe we have the potential of winning this race and wešre not going to
settle for anything less. I am really excited, I am fired up because this is
the last one and wešre going to give it all wešve got. We want to strengthen
the Q brand even more in this market."

Pedregon will line up against brother Frank Pedregon in the first round.
