Tony Pedregon Moves Up to Second Qualifying Position
Q Racing Looks to End Qualifying On a High Note

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2005) -- Tony Pedregon, pilot of the Q Racing Nitro
Funny 
Car, continues his consistent qualifying performances heading into this
weekend's Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Pomona
Raceway.

Pedregon, who placed in the second-qualifying spot, drove to a 4.710-second
elapsed time at 329.99 mph during today's second session, improving on his
4.778-second pass at 322.58 mph set yesterday.

"I think one of the advantages we'll have tomorrow is that we already have
two good runs under our belts," Pedregon said. "To have a strong run was the
game plan for today and the car performed very close to what we wanted.
Tomorrow’s conditions will dictate whether wešll shoot for the number one
spot, but the strategy is to be smart and plan for Sunday.

"Also, it is good to run side-by-side with your brother (Cruz Pedregon),"
Pedregon continued. "The runs were just thousands of a second apart and we
both are in the top three.”
