Cruz Pedregon Third Heading into Weekend
Advance Auto Parts Funny Car Readies For Final Qualifying Sessions of Season

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2005) -- Cruz Pedregon and the Advance Auto Parts
Nitro Funny Car maintained a solid qualifying position heading into this
weekend's Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Pomona
Raceway.

The Santa Rosa Valley, Calif. resident pushed his car’s capability today
improving his elapsed time to 4.714 seconds at 328.94 mph. Pedregon conceded
yesterday’s slot in the second position to brother, Tony, moving to
third.

³We had a great run and the car was strong all the way, yesterday and
today,² 
Pedregon explained. “We were planning on being more aggressive, but that
lane was a little suspect and just before the run, Ron Douglas (crew chief)
decided to pull the engine back a little bit and reduce the horsepower.

“Both days, Tony and I have raced side-by-side and had two very strong runs.
So far, we couldn’t be happier and we are looking forward to tomorrow and
the rest of the weekend.”
