AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 4 -- Mandeep S. Dhaliwal, Chrysler Group Senior Manager - Corporate Quality, received the 2005 Community Service Award from the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) at the 14th Annual Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Awards Ceremony in Chicago last month. Dhaliwal was honored for his contributions at the corporate level and for his commitment to the Indian community.
"Mandeep Dhaliwal is an outstanding leader, positively impacting those with whom he interacts," said Stephen M. Walukas, Chrysler Group Vice President - Corporate Quality. "The Chrysler Group is honored to have the Organization of Chinese Americans recognize Mandeep for his contributions within the company and in the community as a whole."
Dhaliwal, who has been with the Chrysler Group for 12 years, is an committee member of the DaimlerChrysler Asian Network (DCAN) -- an employee resource group -- where he coaches and mentors Asian-American employees. A community leader, Dhaliwal is also often called upon outside the corporation to serve as a mentor to fellow members of the Indian community.

Locally, Dhaliwal volunteers at events, such as "Paint the Town" to improve neighborhoods in Detroit.
In his current role at the Chrysler Group, Dhaliwal has consistently proven his ability to improve quality and reduce costs, while meeting or exceeding customer requirements and business objectives. He also recently studied automotive buying trends of the U.S. Asian American population and presented the key findings to the Executive Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing and Service. His efforts have helped the company better understand the cultural differences and unique buying trends of Asian consumers.
Dhaliwal holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab University in India and a master's degree in Business Administration from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He is married and has two children.
