Iochpe-Maxion recorded net income of R$ 22.0 million in third quarter 2005. Net sales in the third quarter amounted to R$ 386.7 million, up 26.9% over third quarter 2004, reflecting the increase of railway equipment and industrial castings exports to the U.S. market, the local railway equipment market increase, and growth of Brazilian production of buses, light commercial vehicles and trucks. The Company's exports presented a strong growth, reaching US$ 23.6 million in the third quarter of 2005, up 67% in dollar terms over the same period of last year.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to R$ 53.6 million in third quarter 2005, up 10.8%, while gross cash generation (EBITDA) reached R$ 60.6 million, a growth of 9.3%, in all cases over the same period of last year. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at R$ 0.41 for the third quarter.
