Continental Teves Earns Top Honors at AAPEX Show

-- ATE PremiumOne(TM) Rotors recognized in New Product Showcase Awards --

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 3 -- Continental Teves, a global leader in brake technology, announced today that it has received a first place "New Product Showcase" award for its new ATE PremiumOne(TM) disc brake rotors at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), going on now through Nov. 4 in Las Vegas.

ATE earned first place in the category of "Making It Better," which highlights products that are an improved version of a previous product, through weight savings, durability, fit and finish or problem solving. ATE's rotors were recognized because they feature a unique RotorLife(TM) wear indicator, giving technicians a visual indicator of when the rotor should be replaced, as well as a unique groove design that disperses dirt and water and enhances dissipation of heat and gas to reduce brake fade and extend pad life. In addition, ATE's rotors are treated with MetaCote(TM), a protective coating that not only helps prevent rust and corrosion, but also provides an attractive finish.

"It's truly an honor to receive this award for our PremiumOne(TM) rotors," said David Mestdagh, director, North American aftermarket, Continental Teves. "It is especially gratifying to receive this award as we take our first steps into the American aftermarket. The recognition further demonstrates the value of having nearly 100 years of OE experience and know-how that we apply to our aftermarket products to meet the demanding needs of the customer for quality and value," he said.

The "New Product Showcase" awards, which premiered at AAPEX this year, were established to recognize aftermarket products that effectively demonstrate the overall show theme, "We keep them on the road." The awards comprise nine innovative categories in which products should demonstrate vehicle performance, safety, and environmental friendliness, and/or create comfort and convenience for drivers. ATE was one of 300 companies participating in the contest, and one of 100 competing in its category. Aftermarket trade press and consumer media were among the judges for the competition.

The AAPEX show is an annual business-to-business trade show representing the $250 billion North American retail and service aftermarket and features more than 2000 exhibitors. AAPEX is jointly sponsored by Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) and the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA). This is the first year Continental Teves has participated at the show.
