Canepa Design, Solutia Automotive Team on HUMMER H2 Classic
Canepa Design's Dream Vehicle Unveiled at 2005 SEMA Show
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 1 -- Solutia Automotive (Solutia) announced today that its Vanceva(R) Laminated Glass aftermarket product will appear on the Canepa Design 2006 HUMMER H2 SEMA Show vehicle. The custom H2 will be shown in the Solutia booth at SEMA. SEMA, which stands for Specialty Equipment Market Association, is the annual aftermarket extravaganza held in Las Vegas. This year's show runs November 1 - 4, 2005.
Canepa Design (http://www.canepa.com/ ) is recognized throughout the United States as the preeminent specialist tuner of luxury vehicles, one that offers an astounding choice of design and performance upgrades. Canepa Design is known for providing its clients with state-of-the-art technology, premium materials and intense attention to detail.
Solutia Automotive supplied a custom set of its Vanceva(R) Laminated Glass for the project. The set uses a Coral Rose and Smoke Gray colored polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer along with a metallic interlayer. The finished glass product contributes to the distinctive and timeless beauty that a Canepa luxury SUV provides its owner.
Laminated glass is a glass-plastic-glass sandwich, and is standard in most windshields globally. Solutia's Vanceva(R) Laminated Glass has been attracting the attention of designers and restylers, who also appreciate some of the other inherent benefits of laminated glass, such as intrusion resistance and noise reduction. At SEMA, Solutia has provided Vanceva(R) Laminated Glass for 14 vehicles on display.
"This is an important project for Solutia," said Diane Romine, market development director, Automotive Aftermarket, for Solutia. "Vanceva(R) Laminated Glass was conceived for just this type of customer, the discerning automotive restyler. Canepa Design's H2 has taken the lead in the direction we are going with this aftermarket product."
Solutia Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: SOLUQ) , an independent, publicly owned enterprise headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, has a major presence in both national and international markets. The company's other businesses include synthetic fibers, resins, aviation hydraulic fluids, high-performance specialty chemicals and other performance products.
At its inception, Solutia Automotive's side laminated glass was exclusively found on two high-end European sedans. Today, it can be found on 39 vehicle models, from coupes to full-size SUVs, by manufacturers from all over the world. Solutia Automotive manufactures interlayers used in laminated automotive glass, and is not a glass producer itself.
