Parrot Partners with SAT Systems: Telematics Solution is an Industry First
LAS VEGAS--Nov. 1, 2005--Providing both on-the-lot security and a telematics-based concierge/emergency-type response system for customers, Parrot (known worldwide for its innovative Bluetooth solutions for the automotive market) and SAT Systems (a Division of Reno-based onAclick Inc.) have teamed up with a new innovative communication solution and sales incentive.SAT Systems has been named the exclusive North American distributor of Parrot's telematics-based consumer/fleet management solution, which will be known as the SAT3500, for the American automotive market. Effective immediately, the SAT3500 system will be marketed exclusively through the SAT distribution channel, which is focused on automotive dealerships, consumer/fleet and 12-volt outlets. Rollout is targeted for early 2006.
SAT Systems will now be able to offer widely desirable Bluetooth(R) functionality to its 15,000 affiliated auto dealers throughout the country. The SAT3500 consumer/fleet management system provides security for cars on the dealer lots via real-time access to a central dispatch location 24/7. When cars are sold, the purchaser receives the value-added Bluetooth hands-free car kit that is installed and connected to the dispatch service for round-the-clock emergency communication. The consumer also receives all the capabilities of Parrot's Bluetooth car kits, such as total hands-free phone function through voice recognition and voice activation features. Phone audio comes through the car's stereo speakers and radio/CD is automatically muted when phone is in use. Drivers can make calls, take calls, check voicemail and access the phone address book ... while keeping hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
"This alliance brings together two industry leaders who will create easy-to-use telematics and hands-free applications with mass market consumer appeal. Having Bluetooth-enabled seamless communication with security and simplicity will enable us to accelerate coast-to-coast adoption of telematics applications. Consumers will cross the chasm between looking-and-trying to choosing-and-buying," said Edward Valdez, president and COO of Parrot, Inc.
"SAT Systems is perfectly positioned to leverage the customer relationships by bringing Parrot's hi-tech wizardry to this feature-hungry market quickly and efficiently. The SAT 3500 is a competitive and versatile telematic product for which the industry has been waiting. It's a significant profit center for distributors with an incredible array or desirable features for consumers," said John-Eric Jones, president and CEO of SAT Systems.
