Hella Displays 'Revolutionary' Cornering Light at SEMA

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 1, 2005 -- Hella Inc. will unveil its "revolutionary" answer to the visual challenges of night driving with DynaView(R) Evo2, retrofit lighting that bends as drivers turn their vehicles. The system enhances nighttime driving, making it possible to see better when heading into dark curves.

The versatile DynaView Evo2 system represents the latest advance in adaptive forward lighting, or cornering light technology, in Hella's product arsenal. DynaView Evo2 combines both the safety functions of cornering lights and fog lamp in a compact, round auxiliary set of lamps which can be retrofitted to any passenger car, off-road vehicle or mobile home.

With DynaView 2, Hella has developed the first retrofit cornering light system which switches on in addition to the low beam. For this product, Hella lighting and electronics specialists leveraged know-how gained from years of developing and producing automotive bend-lighting and cornering-light systems, an area where Hella leads the global market.

The system includes two lamps and a transverse acceleration sensor -- for yaw rate -- which detects the vehicle's movement through turns.

"We're especially proud of this new corner lighting development and extension of our expanded product lineup," says John Remakis, marketing manager for Hella's North American aftermarket operations. "Our research, engineering and development teams consistently strive to keep us ahead of the pack with an exciting array of new lighting products."

Hella will display the enhanced DynaView system at the annual SEMA show being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center Nov. 1-4. Other Hella products shown will include automotive auxiliary lighting, fuel pumps, electronics and heavy-duty work lamps.

Hella's aftermarket portfolio includes about 3,000 lighting system products providing unique lighting solutions for racing, off-road, marine and off-highway heavy-duty vehicles.
