Microheat Launches HotShot Wireless, Radio Frequency Technology for Heated Washer Fluid System
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--Nov. 1, 2005--Microheat, Inc. introduced today HotShot Wireless, a radio frequency upgrade to HotShot, the revolutionary hot washer fluid windshield cleaning and de-icing system. Microheat's research and development team adapted HotShot's advanced technology into a wireless system that drivers can easily install themselves. The original HotShot, an award-winning system, has been available in the aftermarket for over a year and is now being featured in GM Showrooms on the 2006 Cadillac DTS and Buick Lucerne. Thanks to HotShot, drivers no longer have to scrape ice and grime from their windshield, a problem that has haunted drivers since the invention of wiper blades 75 years ago. Market research shows that within a few years, HotShot will be a standard feature on all new vehicles.
"The innovation behind HotShot Wireless is a huge advancement for the product and for our company," said Microheat President and CEO Gary Pilibosian. "This wireless system can be easily plugged into an automobile by any driver, making the product easily accessible and affordable to drivers throughout the world."
The acclaimed HotShot has been the recipient of numerous awards including: Frost & Sullivan's 2005 Excellence in Emerging Technologies Best Practices Award; Popular Mechanics deemed it the "Outstanding Achievement in New Product Design and Innovation." RoadStar Magazine and Newport Publications awarded Microheat in 2004. Microheat has been named one of 22 finalists for the 2006 Automotive News PACE Awards, which celebrate innovation by original-equipment suppliers of products and processes.
Introduced commercially in 2002, HotShot features a patented cycling technology that intelligently heats fluid to an exact temperature and sprays the fluid at a precise time interval to quickly and efficiently remove snow, ice, bugs and road grime from vehicles. The all-season, all-weather system can be activated at any time during vehicle operation.
