KRUSEMAN, COONS TOP EARL'S PERFORMERS

Cory Kruseman and Jerry Coons Jr. topped the charts over
the weekend of drivers earning Earl's Fast Qualifying points in USAC racing
events. Kruseman was the fastest qualifier for the Valvoline USAC/CRA
Sprint race at Ventura, Calif. Saturday, while Coons topped the qualifying
at the Western Midget race at USA Race Park in Phoenix, Ariz.

Damion Gardner continues to pace the CRA FQ points,
extending his record point total to 215 with a second-fast qualifying
effort at Ventura. Western Midget series runner-up Jerome Rodela stands
atop that series' Earl's standings after his fourth-place qualifying effort
at Tucson.

Earl's points will be up for grabs this Thursday and
Friday as the Budweiser Oval Nationals unfolds for the National and CRA
Sprint Car Series at Perris (Calif.) Speedway. There is no qualifying Saturday.

Points are awarded at each USAC event based on an
international system awarding the top-six qualifiers with points in the
following scale: 1st-9, 2nd-6, 3rd-4, 4th-3, 5th-2, 6th-1. When qualifying
is not held for Ford Focus events, points are awarded based on a system of
lineup points earned in the preliminary heats.

Each USAC National, Western and Ford Focus Midget Car
Earl's Plumbing FQ Champion will be honored at USAC's Champions Night
ceremony in Indianapolis. The National and Western FQ champs will receive
$5,000 each, while the Ford Focus FQ champs will each receive $1,000.
