Delphi Names New Chief Compliance Officer
TROY, Mich., Oct. 31, 2005 -- The Board of Directors of Delphi Corp. named David M. Sherbin, 46, as the company's chief compliance officer (CCO), effective immediately.
The position is in addition to Sherbin's current role as Delphi's vice president and general counsel. In this role, Sherbin will dually report to Chairman and CEO Steve Miller and Audit Committee Chairman Robert Brust.
Sherbin's responsibilities as CCO will include corporate oversight and adherence to corporate standards as well as enforcing formal compliance controls and established processes.
"As CCO, Sherbin will work closely with the finance, internal audit, human resources, legal and security staffs to promote increased collaboration among these functions," said Brust. "Sherbin's understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements will be vital to this position and to the company's corporate governance efforts to ensure adherence to the highest level of integrity and ethical standards."
Prior to joining Delphi, Sherbin was vice president, general counsel and secretary for Pulte Homes, Inc., based in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He earned a bachelor of arts from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and a jurist doctor from Cornell University Law School in Ithaca, N.Y.
