Exciting Racing Action at the SSP Inaugural Candy Bowl on Saturday Night



NEWBERRYTOWN,  PA (October 29, 2005) – The Inaugural Candy Bowl at the 
Susquehanna Speedway  Park on Saturday, October 29 found many winner in victory lane 
with nine classes  of cars competing.   Mike  Miller picked up the wingless 
ARDC Midget feature with Cody Darrah winning the  600cc Micro Sprint Cars main 
event presented by J&K Salvage.  Also picking up feature victories were  Kory 
Sites in the Street Stocks, Dwayne Watson in the Thunder Cars, Jason  Rochelle 
in the Legends Cars and Greg Updegraff in the Xtreme Stock Car Rookie  Rumble 
feature.   In Women on Wheels racing action, Kendra  Knaub won in the Stock 
Cars and Penney Repp in the School Buses.  Butch Richcreek continued his 
winning  streak in the York Haven Auto Sales Mini Van Feature.  A total of 146 
drivers entered today’s  Inaugural Candy Bowl.  After the  event, all kids were 
able to meet & greet the drivers in the pit area and  trick or treat from trailer 
to trailer. 
It  was also announced that all persons purchasing a grandstand ticket for 
tonight’s  Candy Bowl, may exchange it at the ticket booth on Sunday, November 
19 for a  ticket of equal value.  The final  event at SSP will be on Saturday 
afternoon, November 19, the Susquehanna Speedway Park  will host the Turkey  
200 Xtreme Stock Car Enduro race.  As a bonus attraction, the Great American 
School Buses and Mini Vans will  take to the track before the 200 lap Enduro 
event.  Fans will also be given complimentary  school bus rides around the track 
at 12:30  p.m.  The Enduro event will follow the  specifications for the Xtreme 
Stock Car division that ran weekly at SSP during  the 2005 season.  The purse 
payout  will be based on entry numbers and a payout can be found at the end 
of this  release.  
Pre-entry  for the event is encouraged but not mandatory.  A Pre-entry fee is 
$50.00 and must be  postmarked by Tuesday,  November 15, 2005.  All entries 
postmarked on or after November  16, 2005  will be $75.00.  Entries will be  
taken on the day of the event.  The  starting positions for the Turkey  200 will 
be aligned through a blind draw at the pit gate on the day of the  event.  As 
a special bonus,  all  pre-entrants will be able to draw a second time for a 
starting position if he or  she does not like their first draw for position.  
However, the entrant must take the  second drawn spot regardless of whether or 
not it is a better starting  position.  Entry forms may be found  at

The gates open in  the pit and grandstand area at 11:00  p.m.  Racing  action 
begins at 1:00  p.m.  Grandstand  ticket prices are Adults (18 & older) 
$12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; Children  (6-12) $4.00; and Children (5 & under) are 
free.  Pit passes for all  persons 14 years of age and older are $20.00.  The 
raindate for the event is Sunday  afternoon, November 20 with the same time 
schedule.   
The Susquehanna Speedway Park  is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles 
NW on SR382 to York  Road,  then 1.3 miles south.  For more information,
