GEICO Catastrophe Response Team Helping Victims of Hurricane Wilma

LAKELAND, Fla., Oct. 27, 2005 -- GEICO's claims staff has been working around the clock since Hurricane Wilma made landfall. GEICO's Catastrophe Response Team (CAT) of more than 200 adjusters is deploying to South Florida and will remain until all hurricane claims are resolved.

To reach GEICO's claims team at anytime, 24 hours a day, call 1-800-841-3000, or report on the claim on GEICO's web site, http://www.geico.com/.

GEICO urges policyholders whose cars have been damaged in the recent storm to call their claims in immediately. Even now, protecting personal property is one of the most important steps vehicle and homeowners can take. With this unprecedented storm, GEICO's goal is to inspect customers' damaged vehicles and process their claims within several days of the loss report.

GEICO's CAT team will remain in South Florida until all hurricane claims are resolved.

"During an emergency like this," said GEICO President and CEO Tony Nicely, "the best thing we can do for our policyholders is prepare our CAT teams with the supplies they'll need and move them immediately into those areas. GEICO values its customers' security and peace of mind, and we will help get policyholders back on the road as soon as possible."

GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is the fourth largest private passenger auto insurer in the United States. It provides auto insurance coverage for more than 6 million policyholders and insures more than 10 million vehicles. For more information, go to http://www.geico.com/.
