Sterling Marlin AMS Race Advance

Sterling Marlin, No. 40 Coors Light Dodge

Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500- Atlanta Motor Speedway Advance

No. 40 TEAM FACTS:

* Chassis: The Coors Light team will race chassis #205 at Atlanta
Motor Speedway this weekend. Marlin last raced this car at the first
Dover earlier this season, where he finished 32nd. He also piloted it to
a 16th-place finish at the first race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

* Earlier this season: After starting toward the rear of the
field and getting lapped early on, Sterling Marlin battled back for a
16th-place finish in the Golden Corral 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in
March.

* Atlanta Motor Speedway Stats: This weekend will be Marlin's
42nd career start at AMS. He has finished second on two occasions (1995
and 2001) and his highest start is fourth in 1991.

* NASCAR NEXTEL Cup points standings: Marlin is 30th in the
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup points standings after the Subway 500 at Martinsville
Speedway. An accident on lap 175 relegated Marlin to a 38th-place
finish. The No. 40 Dodge, however, is 26th in owner points.

STERLING MARLIN QUOTES:

"We didn't test at Atlanta. We lost the good car we had at Charlotte two
weeks ago so we're going to try to fix it and take it to Texas. We're
taking chassis No. 205 this weekend and it's been a pretty good car for
us. The car has a new body on it and hopefully that will help this
weekend. My teammates that tested at Atlanta said the track lacks a lot
of grip and it's pretty loose. We'll find out when we get there. I've
run second there a couple of times and we've had some other good runs. I
liked the old track better. This track here, the pavement is kind of
like a Rockingham or Darlington. The times give up and that's really
what we need. It's not like Charlotte where it's like you're qualifying
every lap. The speeds probably slow down two seconds from new tires to
old tires. Whoever gets a good combination on the car and gets going
with it will do well. It's not hard to pass at Atlanta like it is at
some of these other places with a groove or a groove and a half."
