Robotic Industries Association (RIA) and design safety engineering, inc. (dse) Announce Enhanced Risk Assessment Software
ANN ARBOR, Mich.--Oct. 2, 20054, 2005--The Robotic Industries Association (RIA) and design safety engineering, inc. (dse) announce the merger of designsafe(R) and Robot Risk Assessment software programs.RIA currently offers the Robot Risk Assessment software tool to assist people in the robotics industry with their risk assessment needs. More and more manufacturers today use robots side-by-side with other manufacturing equipment. As a result, the separate application has been integrated into designsafe(R) version 4, allowing users much greater flexibility in how they conduct risk assessments.
The single seat version of the software will be available November 4th, 2005. The networkable version is set for release in early 2006. A free demo of the software is available at both the RIA (www.roboticsonline.com) and design safety engineering, inc. (www.designsafe.com) Web sites on Monday October 24th.
design safety engineering (www.designsafe.com) has been working to improve safety through design since 1995. Located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, dse specializes in eliminating product and manufacturing hazards by providing design evaluations, safety consultations and risk assessment software.
Founded in 1974, RIA is North America's leading robotics trade group, representing some 240 robotics manufacturers, component suppliers, system integrators, end users, research groups, and consulting firms. The Association sponsors the annual National Robot Safety Conference, currently running October 24-27, 2005, at the Eagle Crest Conference Center at the Ypsilanti Marriott. Among the presentations are special sessions on Risk Assessment for robots and machine tools - including a Workshop from Bruce Main of design safety engineering. The Conference also features the industry's biggest trade fair of tabletop exhibits for robots and machine safety. For more information, call 734/994-6088.
