Honeywell Sets Up New Plant for Control Systems in TEDA
TIANJIN, China, Oct. 20, 2005 ; Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area ("TEDA") announces that Honeywell is to set-up a new control system plant in the area.
''TEDA is the best choice for Honeywell to implement localized production. So more and more new products and technologies will be moved to Tianjin and the Tianjin plant will become the largest production base for Honeywell in China,'' said Shen Dali, president of Honeywell China during the inauguration ceremony of Honeywell's New Plant for Control Systems in TEDA on Oct. 18.
Honeywell (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., which is located in TEDA, was founded in 1993. As a subsidiary of the Fortune 500 company, US Honeywell, it mainly consists of the Tianjin plant and the global R&D center for auto control products. The Tianjin plant engages in the production of auto control products, industry auto control products and system integration. This new facility is its second plant in Tianjin, which has imported da Vinci series scanning equipment for quality control in pulp and paper production and the ''process knowledge system'' to provide consistent integration systems for Honeywell and third party products. These two systems contain Honeywell's most cutting edge technology that tops its peers in the Asian Pacific region.
Brief Introduction to Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area
Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (abbreviated to TEDA, with ''Taida'' as its Chinese transliteration) was established in 1984, upon the approval of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. It was one of the first state-level economic and technological development zones in the country.
Located in the centre of the Circum-Bohai economic circle and in the east of the Eurasia continental bridge, TEDA is a portal to such two metropolises as Beijing and Tianjin and a vital passage to Northeast China. So far over 3,300 overseas-founded companies have settled in TEDA. Among them 93 are founded by 44 corporations of the Fortune Global 500 such as Motorola, Samsung, Toyota Motor. In 2000, TEDA was acclaimed by Fortune of U.S. as ''the most admired industrial park of China.'' In 2002, it was elected by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), along with five other Chinese cities and areas including Shenzhen, Suzhou, Pudong New Area of Shanghai, etc., ''the most dynamic regions of China.''
