NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Oct. 19, 2005 -- High Impact Television (HIT), the most experienced live broadcast production team in the automotive industry, today announced that the 2006 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit has been added to its highly-rated 'DRIVE' series produced for ESPN.
Formerly known as ESPN's 'Road Trip,' the show has taken on a new moniker to represent the exciting changes in this season's coverage. With over 65 new vehicle introductions, the NAIAS continues to serve as the industry's premier automotive showcase. HIT will capture all the excitement in Detroit, giving ESPN viewers an inside look into the nation's most important auto show event, including sneak peeks at the newest vehicles, expert test drives and custom aftermarket products.
"We're thrilled to be producing DRIVE from the Motor City," said Tore Dietrich, president of High Impact TV. "We got our start at the Detroit show 12 years ago and have since produced hundreds of breaking news feeds and live shots covering almost every major new vehicle introduction. I'm certain that ESPN's audience will enjoy the footage of the new car introductions we produce from this show."
Now entering its fourth season producing 'DRIVE' for ESPN, HIT will bring back popular co-hosts, veteran automotive expert, C. Van Tune and automotive journalist, Kelli Stavast. Together, Tune and Stavast bring over 26 years of automotive expertise to ESPN viewers. The DRIVE series will also include coverage of the Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and SEMA auto shows.
