2006 Tentative SSP Schedule Released


SSP  Readies for Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic on Saturday, October 22 & 
 Tentative 2006 Event Schedule Released 
NEWBERRYTOWN,  PA (October 18, 2005) – This  week, the Susquehanna Speedway 
Park readies for the 2nd  Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Fest featuring 50-lap 
features for the Street Stocks,  Four Cylinder Stocks and Xtreme Stock Cars on  
Saturday, October 22.  There  will also be a 15-lap Mini Van Oval Race presented 
by Speedway Auto Sales in  Etters.  The Street Stock event will  pay $3000 to 
the winner and is sponsored by Morgan’s Place Restaurant and Norm’s  Tire & 
Auto.  The Four Cylinder  50-lap feature event pays $1500 to win and is 
presented by Dunn’s General  Repair, Slothower Drilling, Skyline Drive Automotive, 
Steve Krall and House  Power Engines.  The Xtreme Stock Car  feature pays $500 
to win.  More than  $16,650 in purse monies are posted for this prestigious 
stock car oriented  event.  Entry fees are available by  contacting SSP at (717)

at sspracing.net.  There are more than 150 entries expected among the four 
divisions  scheduled to compete.   
Gates open in the  pit area and grandstands at 12:30  p.m.  Warm-ups  begin 
at 2:30  p.m. with racing  beginning promptly at 3:00  p.m.  Grandstand  ticket 
prices are Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; Children  (6-12) 
$4.00; and Children (5 & under) are free.  Pit pass prices are  $20.00 with a 
reduced price of $18.00 for all track licensee holders.  This event was 
originally scheduled for  Silver Spring Speedway and was moved due to a scheduling 
conflict.    
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is  located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles 
NW on SR382 to York  Road,  then 1.3 miles south.  The speedway  website is

SSP  News and Notes: 
- The SSP  Haunted Hayrides originally scheduled for October 21/22 and 
October 28/29  have been cancelled.  
- “The Candy  Bowl�?? has been scheduled for Saturday, October 29 at 4:00  
p.m.  This event will feature the wingless  ARDC Midgets, 600cc Micro Sprints 
presented by J & K Salvage in York ($500  to win), Silver Springs Street Stocks 
($300 to win), Lincoln Thundercars ($250  to win), Legends Cars ($200 to win), 
Mini Vans, W.O.W. (Women on Wheels) in both  Xtreme Stocks and School Buses, 
XSC Rookie Rumble.  The ARDC Midgets and 600cc Micro Sprints  will have 
qualifying races as well.  Heats may be run for the Silver Springs Street Stocks, 
Legends Cars and  Lincoln Thundercars if there are more than 24 entries, 
otherwise these divisions  will compete in longer feature events only.  After the 
event, all teams are  encouraged to stay for trick or treating in the pits with 
all kids in  costumes.  All kids in costumes will  be admitted free to the 
races.  There is no entry fee for any division competing at the Candy Bowl.  All 
entrants will register at the  speedway on the day of the event.  Despite a 
conflict with the rescheduled Linda’s Speedway Micro Sprint  National Open on the 
same day, the 600cc Micro Sprints will remain on the event  as originally 
scheduled.

following the racing  events. 
Time is a  factor!  All cars must report to the  grid area on time for their 
races.  Late arrivals may not be permitted on the track.  Please be early! 
- On Saturday afternoon, November 19, the Susquehanna Speedway Park  will 
host the Turkey  200  Xtreme Stock Car Enduro race.  As a bonus attraction, the 
Great American School Buses and Mini Vans will  take to the track before the 
200 lap Enduro event.  Fans will also be given complimentary  school bus rides 
around the track at 12:30  p.m.  The Enduro event will follow the  
specifications for the Xtreme Stock Car division that ran weekly at SSP during  the 2005 
season.  The purse payout  will be based on entry numbers and a payout can be 
found at the end of this  release.  
Pre-entry  for the event is encouraged but not mandatory.  A Pre-entry fee is 
$50.00 and must be  postmarked by Tuesday,  November 15, 2005.  All entries 
postmarked on or after November  16, 2005  will be $75.00.  Entries will be  
taken on the day of the event.  The  starting positions for the Turkey  200 will 
be aligned through a blind draw at the pit gate on the day of the  event.  As 
a special bonus, all  pre-entrants will be able to draw a second time for a 
starting position if he or  she does not like their first draw for position.  
However, the entrant must take the  second drawn spot regardless of whether or 
not it is a better starting  position.  Entry forms may be found  at

-  2006 Event Schedule Released - The opening night of racing for the  2006 
season will be Thursday, April 13 featuring the 410 Sprint Cars, Xtreme  Stock 
Cars and Legends Cars.  The  event will be followed by the beginning of weekly 
Friday night racing on April  14 featuring the Super Sportsman, Street Stocks 
and ARDC Midgets  (wingless).  The Late Models will  open up their SSP season 
on Friday, April 21 with their first of 14 scheduled  events at SSP in 2006.  
The detailed  2006 schedule of events at the Susquehanna Speedway Park  
should be finalized and released by the end of October.  The specification rules 
for all  competing divisions will be finalized and released in November or early 
December  at the latest.   All dates below are subject to  change.
