JONES, RODELA CLOSER TO EARL'S TITLES

Levi Jones of Olney, Ill. and Jerome Rodela of El Monte,
Calif. are closer to 2005 Earl's Fast Qualifier championships following
races in USAC's Valvoline National Sprint Car and Western Midget Car Series
this past weekend.

Rodela was the fastest qualifier for Saturday night's
Midget race at Ventura, Calif. and holds an 18-point lead over Garrett
Hansen in the Western Midget Earl's points with just two races remaining.
Jones was the sixth fastest qualifier for Sunday's "Rich Vogler Classic"
Sprint race at Winchester, Ind. but has a 13-point lead over Jay Drake in
that series' Earl's FQ points entering final events in California in
November. Tracy Hines was Sunday's fastest Winchester qualifier.

Earl's points will be up for grabs this week in races at
Perris, Calif. (CRA Sprint Cars) and Shenandoah, Va. (Carolina/Virginia
Focuses).

Points are awarded at each USAC event based on an
international system awarding the top-six qualifiers with points in the
following scale: 1st-9, 2nd-6, 3rd-4, 4th-3, 5th-2, 6th-1. When qualifying
is not held for Ford Focus events, points are awarded based on a system of
lineup points earned in the preliminary heats.

Each USAC National, Western and Ford Focus Midget Car
Earl's Plumbing FQ Champion will be honored at USAC's Champions Night
ceremony in Indianapolis. The National and Western FQ champs will receive
$5,000 each, while the Ford Focus FQ champs will each receive $1,000.
