Avanti Takes a Big Step With New V-6 Power for 2006
~ Avanti finds new enthusiasts with a wider range of horsepower ~
VILLA RICA, Ga., Oct. 17 -- The Georgia based independent automaker, Avanti Motor Corporation, is introducing their first Avanti ever built with a 210 horsepower V-6 engine. Avanti also offers a 300 horsepower V-8 engine and a hi-performance supercharged 460 horsepower V-8 in the 2006 models. The V-6 models target new, more conservative individuals that enjoy the Avanti for its styling and elegance. The new V-6 Avanti Coupe starts at a modest price of $61,950 and has an excellent fuel economy rating of 28 miles per gallon on the highway. Also available for 2006 is the more exciting V-8 Avanti and the $95,000 fully loaded supercharged hi-performance Avanti for the individuals that need the thrill of extreme raw horsepower and never before exceptional performance.
The new V-6 Avanti is available in both the coupe and convertible featuring the Avanti signature exterior styling with full leather interior, four wheel disc brakes, 5 speed manual or automatic transmission, and a host of other options including a DVD navigation system.
"Avanti has made the decision to offer the new V-6 powered model because we have found there exists a new market with individuals that want to enjoy the exclusivity of the Avanti, but don't need 300 or more horsepower to do so," said Avanti Motor Corporation spokesperson, Greg Payne. "By offering this tamed down version of both our 2006 coupe and convertible models, Avanti is introducing the sophistication and beauty of its inspired design to a slightly more conservative individual at a price that is comparable with other specialty cars in its class."
The new Avanti engine is an impressive 4.0L V-6 which provides 210 horsepower and 240 pound feet of torque. The new 6 cylinder engine has technologically evolved in recent years. The horsepower and torque produced by the 4.0L is comparable to many of the V-8 engines of the last two decades. Additionally, the new 4.0L produces fewer emissions and has better fuel economy than the larger engine.
Avanti has built a legacy on being "driver's car," built for the individual who understands the difference, with performance and design as the most important criteria. The new models adhere strictly to that heritage. Further, Avanti Motor Corporation will also offer a supercharged version of the new 4.6L V-8 with 462 horsepower and 419 lb-ft torque.
The Avanti was originally created to be the savior for the Studebaker automaker in South Bend, Indiana in 1963. After the demise of Studebaker, Avanti has survived as an independent automaker building handcrafted motorcars for the better part of 43 years. The Avanti has most recently been built for the last six years by Avanti Motor Corporation outside of Atlanta in Villa Rica, Georgia. The company limits production of the Avanti to 150 handcrafted cars annually.
The new 2006 Avanti coupe and convertible models are set to be released to the public in October 2005 as Avanti continues building its national and international dealer network.
